The Benefits of Hot Air Welded Roofing Systems
In single-ply roofing systems, seams are a critical point of a roofs performance. While roofing membranes are manufactured to provide waterproofing protection, it is the quality of the seams that ultimately connect individual sheets into a continuous roofing system. Understanding how hot air welding systems are installed, tested, and verified can help building owners understand why they are a trusted method for industrial and roofing applications.
PVC vs Modified Bitumen Roofing: What’s the Difference?
PVC and modified bitumen roofing systems are widely used as roof membrane solutions for flat roofs, both providing strong waterproofing for industrial and commercial applications. Even though they are both designed to have a similar purpose, they differ in how they are built, installed, and perform over time.
How To Maintain a PVC Roof For Maximum Lifespan
PVC roofing membranes are designed to deliver long-term performance and durability, making them a popular choice for commercial low slope roofing systems. However, even the most reliable single-ply roofing systems require regular maintenance to perform at their best. Without proper maintenance, a small issue can develop into a much larger problem, reducing the overall lifespan and increasing long-term costs.

What Is a Single-Ply Roofing Membrane? Plain Language Guide for Building Owners
If you manage or own a building with a flat roof, you’ve likely heard the term single-ply roofing membrane. A single-ply roofing membrane is a material used for flat roofs to protect a building from water, weather, and environmental damage. It is installed as a layer across the roof, creating a watertight barrier. These systems are most used for commercial and industrial flat roofing applications, such as warehouses, office buildings, retail centers, and many other industrial facilities. In this article, we will break down what single-ply roofing means, how it works, and what building owners should know when choosing this type of roofing system.

PVC and EPDM are two common single ply roofing membranes in the industrial roofing industry, yet they both are designed for different performance standards. When choosing a roofing system for your project, it is important to understand the differences between PVC and EPDM roofing to ensure the best long-term durability, performance, and costs.
PVC vs TPO: What’s the difference?
PVC and TPO may look the same, but the differences go far beyond appearance. TPO offers a lower upfront cost, while PVC delivers proven durability, stronger performance, and better long-term value.

All Thermoplastic Rolls Are Not Equal
The manufactures of wide-width single-ply rolls make marketing claims that the wide-width products have application advantages because, compared with systems using narrower rolls, there are fewer seams and installation is quicker. While this claim may be accurate when wide-width rolls are used in fully adhered and plate-bonded systems, it is not necessarily accurate for side-lap mechanically attached applications.
